Paper necklace and earrings

I constructed this necklace and earrings from thick watercolour paper by using the origami flower fold technique (which is usually used to make books, not jewellery ...) I stained the paper with black ink, then dribbled bleach on here and there, and used a bamboo pen, dipped in bleach, to write the words.

I should probably spray something on to seal and strengthen it, but I feel it is not quite finished yet. I have an urge to stitch through the 'pages' with black embroidery thread. What do you think? Any other ideas?

Earrings.

I made these a couple of weeks ago. Crocheted flowers, stiffened by dipping into a mixture of wood glue and water (squash out excess, spread out flat on a towel and leave to dry for 48 hours).

They are  l5 cm long - which is a great help for the posture as it forces me to lift my head, lengthen and straighten my neck, and drop the shoulders ...

Xmas tree.

I made this year's tree from white plastic bottle tops which I prestikked onto the wall.

I then printed out teeny pictures of family and friends and stuck them on the inside of the bottle tops.

The very top of the tree is one of those transparent plastic bubbles which you find on detergent bottles. I put a small battery-operated candle inside.

Somehow this year the festive season made me feel sad and melancholic ... but I think my tree is a pretty nice idea when you have to celebrate Xmas without so many of your family and friends ...
