Got this at a car boot sale recently. It is great, let me tell you! In addition to stabbing (with a felting needle) and ripping (paper), I can now hammer my frustrations away.
This was my first attempt. Made from tin cut from a cooldrink can with tin snippers and folded over with pliers.
Good news - the maths development is finished, apart from a final look I need to take when it has been typeset. Whoooo hooooo!!!!! The science editing is not done yet - about 200 pages still to be delivered by the author, and then of course it has to go through several proofs up to master set. I think another month or two should do it. And then .... freedom! .....oh, sweet, sweet freedom ....
Have a great weekend, everyone! I am taking an early one ...

Desktop.
Nathalie and others are showing their desktops once a month on the 15th, and I am joining them this month. My laptop's desktop is pretty boring, so I thought I would show my real desktop instead. In case you are wondering, it is a little neater than usual as I haven't started working yet.
In the foreground you see my desk lamp, a dictionary (the others are all on the floor, six of them), two sets of notes I am adapting, my reading glasses, scrap paper with doodles for a possible exercise, the two boxes L'Usband built for my laptops - to position them at the right height so as to minimise the neck-and headaches I get from working (these have now disappeared, but as you have probably guessed, have been replaced by wrist aches), a little book I use to make lists each week on top of a magazine that I still want to read, two of my business cards, one of my laptops (showing Nathalie's desktop!), in the background my cell phone blinking on top of a pile of notes and reference material. On the left of the picture (and the back of my desk) various bottles and jars with pens and pencils and markers and stuff. More stuff hanging from the bookshelf above the desk to remind me of other stuff ..
I think you get the picture.

If it ain't broke ...
I like blogs with BIG pictures.
All I wanted was more space for my pictures, so I clicked some buttons and now I have this.
The words are too small.
And my header now looks funny. I guess I can fix it when I have more time.
And I was hoping that the existing pictures on the old posts would magically resize. (They didn't.)
And the text wraps funny.
And the side bar looks odd.
But here is a nice BIG picture for you.

The Power of Pink.
A pair of pink shoes is just what you need to brighten up your week. A present to myself, in honour of my Word for the Year. And perfect with a pair of jeans.
I love Tsonga shoes - I wore a pair of their black Mary Janes for 8 years until they finally wore through - literally. I also own two pairs of their chunky suede boots - one black, and one a funny kind of powder blue. A pity that their online catalogue is not very comprehensive. They have left out all their best designs!
