Remember this? For years I kept them, waiting for the right project. But the right project didn't appear. And so, in a bold and brave move, I got rid of them. A few hours after I did, Freshly Found alerted me to this link. So I slowly started collecting again, until I could make this ...
(which hangs on my studio wall). And now I want my big bag full of tp inners back! I want to make a huge screen for my kitchen window which is now looking out on the brick wall of the neighbour's house instead of the beautiful sea.
Oh, somewhere there is a lesson to be learnt. I am just not sure what it is ...

Happ Day to you.
Oh dear - just like the song says - you don't know what you've got till it's gone'!! Still, at least you know you will be regularly adding to a fresh stash!
That just seems to be one of the rules of life. Even when you try to do the right thing you take the chance of making the wrong decision.
Great idea to recycle and improve at the same time.
i have sat here for five minutes, trying desperately not to type I TOLD YOU SO, but i winced when you threw away those TP tubes ;)
You certainly go through a load of TP! To have saved that many- oh wait- they are cut , I get it now...very clever! So sorry you could not bomb the house from your vision...sucks!
Very creative this one! Well just create a beautiful seascreen with your tp's and what about doing graffiti on the ugly brick wall !!
went to see the link. these wall toilet paper roll sculpture look beautiful. it's a good thing you can make several rings out of one roll. if you use them as much as we do here, you'll have enough soon!
I know I shouldn't laugh, but I did! Typical, isn't it? Still, this sculpture is gorgeous and now you can happily collect TPs again with a specific mission in mind that no-one can refute the creativity of. Go Girl!!! Block out those bricks...
All your other commenters have commented on the various lessons that can be learnt so I won't. It is always the way though that you need stuff once it is gone. Though I still think you are right to have thrown them out because sometimes you have to draw the line somewhere! I do like what you have done with the newly collected ones. THe lesson there could be something about beauty out of something not so beautiful and that could somehow link to your very annoying neighbour. Maybe.
A screen like this is such a good idea! (And you could stick tissue paper over the ends of the tubes and get a stained glass thing going on.)And yay! you can collect again!
Oh I am so delighted to see this! Just love the beautiful way you put it together! Maybe I should add toilet rolls to the things I collect too - Perhaps I can keep them in the same container as the used light bulbs or medicine bottles?
ps - yet another tp idea roll http://www.flickr.com/photos/elena-lu/3739522695/in/set-72157622242837766/
That always happens doesn't it? Everytime I throw something away that I've kept for years!
Love what you've done here.
ohhh this is great Anairam!!!
loove the idea :)
I had a lovely bag of rollies set aside for this... until my six year old found them! Although... watching him build Lord only knows what he was building was worth the sacrifice. Guess the universe had other plans for my bag of rollies.
