Larger than (one) life

I have always liked the idea of having several lives, to be larger than my one life, so to speak.
Anairam, my online blog persona, is part of this. I experimented with Second Life. Tango also allowed me to live another life. (Sadly, I decided to retire from tango at the end of last year.) And the reason I am so addicted to books and movies is because they give me the opportunity to at least experience other lives.

"Do I contradict myself?
Very well, then I contradict myself.
I am large,
I contain multitudes."
(Walt Whitman)

One of the reasons I like my blog is that I can (most of the time) write about the good things, be lighthearted, have fun ..... even if I've had a rotten day and am in a foul mood!!!

Ja, I so know what you mean. I have found that slowly, over the years of blogging, I'm morphing into my online persona in real life. For me it's been such a cool way of testing the water before jumping in boots and all.

You are right. Blogging is an excellent way to get our creative selves out for some exercise.

I am only sad that there is no way for most blog friends to spend face time together without the difficulty of traveling. I know I would enjoy visiting with all of your personalities and I would help you plot a way to put an evil curse upon the neighbor who (among other things) has blocked your view of the sea.

I know just what you mean and like the way you have expressed it in your journal page. I agree with Anne and Wildish Woman too. I remember reading about second life in a novel and being intrigued-though I never tried it.

Love your journal pages. and was intrigued by your idea of many lifes.... i always look at my diverse sides with a bit of distrust and been trying to unify them--- maybe i am going at this in the wrong way? many lives is a great idea!

I think we are all such complex beings with different moods and reactions on different days.. I like your ways of exploring different 'lives'. In my opinion it all adds up to one extraordinary and full life!
