Embroider.

I discovered the gorgeous blog of Annekata recently - I love her style and her philosophy. She hand-sews everything - even her clothes. Now, I am not likely to hand-sew a dress or skirt, but I do like these embroidered circles she made, and they looked doable for someone with my limited sewing skills, so I made some of my own with cream cotton and black embroidery thread.

They are in the process of becoming something else - I will show you on Monday!

What a fun project! LOVE absolutely LOVE black and white- just can't go wrong there!!! Curious to see what your little patches will become...
when i first started sewing I did not have a machine- lived on a boat, there was no electricity- I spent days sewing seams and biting them flat- I still prefer hand sewing. It is so ZEN!

Yes, I like the black and white too. Very fun little project. Hand embroidery IS a good way to clear the mind of clutter and sort out thoughts while your hands surprise you with their work.

She has a lovely blog-just had a peek. I like the circles-what will they be I wonder? I am thinking necklace or belt, or maybe skirt decoration?
I hand sewed my last cloth doll-mainly because I was too lazy to dig out the machine, but it was strangely relaxing. Hand sewing to machine sewing is like walking to driving.

I LOVE them...they look like awesome B&W drawings, mandalas...I used to do these stiches on everything a loooooooooooooooong time ago as a child...It gives me a great idea to do it on a journa. Very nostalgic for me.

Love these b&w doodles. I was wondering...wouldn't it be interesting to translate the feeling of your kaleidoscope images somehow into stitching?
