The second is this hand-painted barbershop sign from Tanzania. I have a thing for barbers and barbershops. At one stage my grandfather was the oldest practising barber in the country. And L'Usband, although not a barber by profession, has been cutting my hair for the last 10 years. I wouldn't think of letting anyone else touch it.

I like it. I like signs for things-and that one is sweetly naive in its style. That is good that your husband can cut your hair. I wish Andy could do that!
I wouldn't let Malcolm anywhere near me with scissors - but I did used to cut his hair! I love the sign - short and to the point!!
Why would a bald guy need a barber? Barber's in this country used to also be the town dentist, mostly yanking and pulling but that is how dentistry began. Maybe the Tanzanian barber got yanking and pulling mixed up with scissoring hair and there you have - a bald guy!
I cut my own hair- it always looks mouse chewed and really pretty awful...or is that awesome- I get the two confused just like the barber dentist.
