Her (k)night in shining armour.

This journal page was created in response to an excellent series of interviews that Willemien Brümmer had with HIV-positive patients - published in Die Burger.

In many cases HIV-positive women are left by their husbands or partners after contracting "The Sickness". Accused of "bringing The Sickness into the house", these single mothers have to fend for themselves and their children.

We are very fortunate that we are not blighted with HIV/Aids. Isn't it just the way of the world that the women get the blame?

The art that has got it's inspiration from something horrendous is fabulous- that is what art can do!
