Wearable Art

Last week I posted about my new wearable art T-shirt (by artist Ian Hunter). What I didn't mention was that Ian's T-shirts are all limited editions, signed and numbered on the inside.

I've now changed it into a skirt! Basically by cutting off the sleeves at a kind of angle, cutting it straight at the neckline and sewing on a length of fabric at the top to tie it with (at the back). I am no seamstress so stuff like zips and button holes are not in my repertoire. Anyway, I never wear tops tucked in, always hanging over, so that is okay. A multitude of sins can be hidden that way...

I love the way it came out - the bottom of the T-shirt (with the black strip) is perfect for translation to skirt, don't you think?

oh you are so rockin' that skirt
you did one excellent job, by the way
did the shirt have that fine bit of black order or did you throw that bit in yourself, designwise??
(ps - we are all just little bugs of energy ourselves, like transmitters of short wave radio, we all have a frequency unique to only ourselves. this has been what I have believed - love your openness to try!!!)

You are so brave! I tend to screw up everything I try to sew! that skirt is brilliant indeed, the model - typically extraordinarily skinny- needs to eat a sandwich!
The design of the t-shirt makes a better skirt for sure. That is just too cute!
Good job, YOU!

Smashing!! It really looks great as a skirt! Of course, one must have the figure for it and you clearly do.Wish I was 20 years younger and 6 inches taller! Enjoy!

Wow! Excellent work -it looks amazing. And good on you for spotting its potential and turning it from something good into something fabulous!!! Also, GREAT boots! :)

ps the word verification is brine - a bit like the smell of the sea air outside your window - lovely!

I'm back again and I like it even more!
What you need for typing is some kind of sling attached to the ceiling to lightly rest your arms in as you type. Or something like that!

Nice boots! The shirt-skirt looks great; I love Ian's shirts, but I don't wear t-shirts that often. Now, however, there's no excuse... I'll have to go shopping.

So much catching up for me to do! I am only seeing the skirt now. It truly is a limited edition now. Altered wearable art! Lovely!!!
