Hot.

What is better than ice-cold watermelon on a hot* summer's day?

Not much, I think.
*We are experiencing a minor heat wave in Cape Town. And no wind.

I love watermelon! You are right it is just the thing in hot weather. Hope it cools down a bit to a pleasant and breezy temperature!

I would like very much to hop over and have some with you, in the heat, though I am not fond of heat, but my bones are chilled, my blood is ice...I think that I could use some warmth.
I just posted a little pot my son made- looks like mud cloth- it is utterly cool!

I'm with Linda Sue. A little sun and tee shirt weather would be a nice change from ice and snow. And fresh watermelon!!! I won't see or taste that for MONTHS!

Am I the only person in the world who hates watermelon?
An ice-cold coke is still tops. Maybe no vitamins, but probably not more sugar than watermelon either.
My word for 2011 is "control". It's a long story...

Years ago, when I was staying in a very posh hotel in Jakarta, I would lie by the beautiful pool in the afternoons (Malcolm was working!). On very hot days, the pool boy would come round with chilled slices of watermelon .... bliss!! We had a very cold night - it is minus seven this morning!!
