The Beauty of Numbers.

I made these ...

in order to do this ...

so that I can determine how best to seal and protect my fabric sculpture once it is finished. I have decided on #1 (matt gel medium) or #6 (podge) - they are closest to the original colour and look of the fabric (a cotton dyed with rooibos tea).

They look so cute - I feel like making lots and lots of little cushions and stitching numbers on them! Not sure what I would do with them though - a mobile perhaps.

Numbers are so underrated as a design element, don't you think?

If I did those they would be a teaching aid! I have a set of bags with buttons 0-10 and sewn on numbers. They are meant to hang up and have small objects of the right number put in them.
I am looking forward to seeing your fabric sculpture finished.

I think they will be great for a bowl on the cofffee table. - Real conversation starters :-)

I love them! I agree with you about numbers as design.

About the papers you commented on on my blog, they are papers ready to paint on, not my work as of yet...

Very cool experiment. It looks like you came up with some interesting results, too. Your stitching is so nicely done.
