Exposed

I have decided to join Misty Mawn's self-portrait Wednesday. Just for this week. I find it quite terrifying to expose myself in this way. Psychologically speaking, I mean. I have also discovered that the desire to look pretty, good, attractive, or at least to present one's best profile, does not diminish with age. I have discarded the first pics I took, which were all meant to show me in a more desirable light, and kept the bits that I think are brutally honest. Well, here you have it.
Me.

i can understand your hesitancy over exposure and concur with the knowledge that age does not diminish our desire to be beautiful
i love your collages
and your eyes speak multitudes in these photos
(PS you always make my day when you visit or I pop 'round here - a hearty thanks and a gentle smile to you)

You are very brave - the last photo of me on my blog was of the back of my head! Now for the important bit - I have nominated you for the Circle of Friends Award, you'll find the details on today's post

I love this! You have beautiful eyes! I know exactly what you mean though-so well done!
Oh-and I was going to nominate you too but, unlike Anne, I am slow off the mark! I shall include you in my list when I get around to it though! And I hope you do make a fortune telling doll or somehthing akin to it! I thought about doing one but using just faces cut from magazines. Not sure why yet though.

It has always been very difficult for me to have photos taken ("I don't cast a reflection," is a joke I always tell people). But Judy Wise had such a great great post about self portraits and self actualization and acceptance, I slowly but surely began coming out -- and now, I feel okay about it.

You. Look. Great!

What a brave and clever idea! Very good looking for the brutal truth![I agree with the need to still look as good as possible and find it very hard to come to terms with signs of the aging process!]

i feel just this way, too... it just takes taking A LOT of photos and then taking them into photoshop once and awhile. ;)

i love what you did with your sp, very cool!
