F-O-U-N-D

Sections of my new insert, called F-O-U-N-D. I am still deciding how to attach them to the backing cards - I am thinking of 'sewing' them on as I did with the broken crockery piece in Anatomy of Love. Also, the paper that I chose for cutting out the backing cards seems quite dull, I may change this. And I am going to add the letters FOUND - I just have to find the right font - or maybe I'll draw them by hand ...

Most of these were picked up on my walks, although the antique marbles, the section of rosary chain (not the crucifix) , one of the pottery shards and a piece of iron were 'dug' up by moles in our garden.
Sometimes you have to look down to find a treasure ...

Very nice finds! I'm looking forward to see what they will look like at the end of the process.

I picked a week word in my blog today if you're interested...

I'm amazed by the art you have produced from bits and pieces that other people would have thrown out!

oh we have so much in commmon! I have a little box of just such items as those you "found". When I lived abroad, I used to artistically decorate my door with the foreign-to-me objects I found as I discovered the new land I was in -love this
very fond of your work
sigh

What a temptress you are! yes- maybe it IS time to redecorate the door! I have so much on my plate (and trying to be selfemployed which is failing and making me poor) and still, with the time to claom for my own, I am putting the art last on the list! why oh why?
I lived in Taiwan and in Hong King and also San Francisco.
Now i live in a small city near water and I love it. I had a lot of big city life in my life - somehow, I am not missing it right now.
But I do miss the traveling -ahhhhh

interesting finds! and a great idea to display them like this. before i met NE i didn't really appreciate found objects that much but he always finds pictures of people on the sidewalk or forgotten grocery lists and i find it rather interesting to look at these fragments of other peoples lives. cool that your collection also has a time dimension with old things like antique marble!

Congrats on winning Candace's giveaway. Love these little bits of things you've got here. What a fun collection, and it wouldn't take much to put them in all sorts of great arty gatherings. Lucky, lucky finds the moles bring. - Jeanne in Oregon

LOVE these bits individually but together they are just awesome! I like the way Sarah put it, that they had a life once, and now you are giving them a new one... Lovely.

Oh, I love this! It's like a library catalogue, or a sentence with the words made of objects.
