A Package of Love

I promise I am not posting this to make you all jealous, but I just had to share with you my wonderful Five Senses package which I received from the lovely Kendalee, she who walks around in beautiful long coats in the snow.

A while ago I won a giveaway on her blog, based on my five sense-choices. This is what I chose:
Sight- a starry sky, a rose, the sea ; Sound- a stormy sea at night, a sad tango song, ice cream cart bell; Smell- freshly brewed coffee, jasmine, certain new books; Taste- Dark Lindt chocolate, freshly brewed coffee (again!), chocolate cupcakes; Touch- bubbles of champagne on my tongue, my dear Le'Usband's neck, hot dry sand on a beach. And my favourite 3 colours - Black, Red and Sandy white.

A beautiful box arrived (decorated with one of her delighful photo-mosaics - she is known for them, see here and here and here), and an exquisite handmade mini-journal, filled with all my choices ...

Yummy chocolate, a little cupcake filled with lipgloss, glow-in-the-dark stars, hibiscus flowers in syrup to put in my bubbly(cannot wait to try them!), jasmin and red rose bath truffles ...

Sea sand, bags of silver and red stars, a decorative carved ball, lovely felt stars, a sweet little red bell, red tiny roses, a Hope stone, coffee, a CD with the most amazing sounds of sea and storm (I am listening to it as I type) and the DVD of BBC's adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell's Cranford - oh glory! What a treasure trove of delights!
I so love the thoughtful way she put this together - all in shades of silver, red and black, and I want to show you some pages in the mini-journal she made which is filled with all kinds of delightful pockets of tiny treasures ...

I am so bowled over by her generosity - I never expected anything like this! Kendalee, thank you very, very much - I love it!! What a wonderful gift you have - this ability to put something together so exquisitely ... xxx Anairam (PS I would love to know where the sand is from, and the wonderful sea sounds!)

I'm so glad it made it and am thrilled that you like it Aniaram. It was such a pleasure to find and make things to interpret your lovely list! I'm only sorry it took me so long to get it to you. The only thing I didn't try for was Le'Usband's neck ;)

The sand is from a beach in Zanzibar at the northern most tip of the island, where you can sit in the same spot and watch the sun both rise and set over the sea (I have a small jar of it that I collected there, is carried around the world with me, and a little of which is now with you...). The sea and storm sounds I downloaded from a series called sounds of nature (after my own attempts to record a storm for you resulted in something that sounded just like static!) I hope your senses are delighted and enjoy it all - it comes with much love!
