T-A-D #19 The Scrappy Necklace

Time is quite limited - the third proofs arrived yesterday (two-and-a-half months late) and the entire ball-game has changed. Let's just say that my handy handbag %^&$ dispenser is empty. So for TAD I quickly made this necklace by tying together all the leftover scraps from one of my other fabric projects ...

Shall I actually wear it? Hmmmm, maybe not - it needs some refining, I think. I do not want to look as though I've dunked my head into the rubbish bin and not realized that the contents are still hanging around my neck, do I?

I don't know- it looks awesome in the photo! Just like all fashion really but do you ever actually SEE women on the street wearing "fashion" ...not here anyway. The proof reading BS must STOP already! Or am I going ot have to come down there and....
They would be so sorry if I did- and you would never work again...Might be a good thing- I know a whole bunch of WORDS!

aimee - What a great project to do with your little girl - good practice and so much more interesting than tying shoe laces! This idea has been brewing for a while, editor from the post below once made a beautiful necklace out of embroidery yarn which started me thinking, and the other day I saw a girl walk past me and she had something on that looked like tied together little bits and pieces ... so, not an original idea, but a version of looks I've picked up elsewhere!

editor - Oh, thank you! Coming from you that is a real compliment! Although I must say that my own feeling is that it looks fan-freakish-tastic!

linda sue - Well, most of what I see in fashion magazines are certainly not seen on our streets! Certainly in our neighbourhood I will be laughed at if I wear some of the things I think look really cool! Oh dear, I so wish you could be my manager, and come and see to these publishers on my behalf. I really feel quite worn down by them. Please bring along a blunt object.

YOU could so pull this off! And not because you have rubbish bin style (although that image really made me smile) but because you have STYLE! People somewhere will be paying good money for something not nearly as cool... Seriously.

It looks like seaweed. It goes very well with that outfit. I think you should wear it and see what comments you get, you might be surprised!

Seaweed in a good way-I have written that quite bluntly. I love seaweed and would love a necklace looking a bit like it!

stephanie - Oh my goodness, do you think so? It really is a bit rougher than the picture shows.

kendalee - I think I must try it with a few other outfits - and then I might venture out with it. To our postbox. Hahaha! It might be a little like the silver&black beanie experiment - little baby steps!

editor - Well, I have to look at it and try it out (see above), I will let you know if I did!

sarah - I giggled at the seaweed comment, because that is exactly what it looks like! (I have some real dried seaweed in my living room.) I like seaweed too, so I know what you meant!
