T-A-D #25 Card-A-Day

To complement Thing-A-Day I have designed and created Card-A-Day:

Materials: A bunch of unused visiting cards (mine date from the 1980s, scary thought) and an old magazine.
Method: Cut out words from magazine (verbs work best) and paste one on each card.

It is meant for people like me, who like some direction, or focus, to their daily drudgery. For example, today I shuffled them, cut the deck, and drew the card “BUY”. Ha! So today I focused on the concept of “BUYing”! (No, actually I focused on proofreading, but that is another story.) After some deep reflection and philosophising on commercialism, consumerism and the effects of globalisation, I decided to interpret the concept more literally. So I am off to BUY some wine. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow will bring. Hopefully not a headache.

FABULOUS (the concept of these one-word cards as well as your conviction to buy a bottle of wine! :))

i wish you would keep doing these tads - i love them!

Your cards are a very good idea, though were I to make them they would be wrong- EAT...Sleep...chocolate..bathe..tea..draw..play..sit..stay..laze..
Might not be a very good idea for me to make my own...

Great idea you clever old(ish) thing. Am going to get the missus to join me in a card-making adventure. Would be instructive to see which words your partner chooses!

Aimee - I am so glad you like them! - I should have said that part of the idea was inspired by your wonderful quotes, made up from magazine words! (That post of yours was so clever - I still want to do a couple of journal pages using that idea ...)

Sarah - My word today was "favour". (I first thought it said "flavour" and immediately rushed off to the kitchen to look for one of my favourite things, that is, food.) But then I saw it is "favour". So I am making a list in my journal of some of my favour-ite things ... like brown paper packages tied up with string.

Linda Sue - Hahaha! I must say, it will probably work best if one's set of cards is made by someone else! I tried not to think too hard when I cut out the words. What a pity chocolate is not one of my words, but it could fall under "buy" or "eat" ...

anonymous - Oh, anonymous - how can you even THINK I am a clever old(ish) thing? Of course I completely agree with the "clever" part, but old? Look at my cool comic wallet, look at my paper dolls! And the crown! I am positively a teenager ...

esti - I am so glad that you like them, but I think my ideas are getting more and more desperate! Fortunately only three days to go! I have already made today's (Thursday) thing, but my camera's battery has given in ... so posting it might be a bit late ...
