T-A-D #3 Heartfelt

Leftover chain from old craft project, black felt embroidered with red yarn, red button from old jersey, black bead and letter bead (the M is for the last letter of my name!) I made it to stay in keeping with my 'hearts' theme, and wore it today, but it isn't really me. I much prefer my second version below.

Same as above but I replaced the felt heart with a black perspex bird, bought as a Christmas ornament (from here) last year.

glad to see you're still crafting with that injured hand - this is darling! i'm so curious what your blog name means - i put it in my google reader yesterday and realized that i didn't know.

aimee - fra(a)ing is (my own) combination of two Afrikaans words. 'Fraai' means 'cute and a 'fraiing' (without the extra 'a') is a tassle. I have no idea how I came up with it - I was looking for a word that was different, I guess. And something that would somehow convey a sense of decoration, which is what I wanted to do with my blog. Oh dear, decoration and cuteness seem to be such superficial concepts, and quite unlike me. At heart I am a very serious (and uncute) person. My blog is my escape - allowing me to have a different personality - and where I feel quite free to live out fantasies of making little hearts and bears and stuff!

Two for one... brilliant! And I think both are fraai!

thanks for the explanation - how clever and creative! blogs are amazing vehicles for bringing out those pieces of ourselves that don't always show in daily life. i love what you've created here.

kendalee - The bird actually looks really nice on - I wore it yesterday!

aimee - Thank you! I love what blogworld has done for me - I am each and every day totally wowed by what people create - in art, images, craft, words ... what an amazing source of inspiration! I am a true Disciple of Blog - I spread the word everywhere I go and am becoming a bit of a bore with blogless friends & family, trying to get them to start one, read some, blah, blah, blah .....
