Very clever! It's just what I wanted - my favourite flower perfume - frangipane!

At first this didn't work, I scratched, I sniffed, and the aroma was...computer screen- Then it was coffee- and now it is peaches...WOW- it keeps changing- Brilliant!

i am sending you my fingernail as to better scratch for the aroma
and then i am sending your my sniffer
which tells me its most likely a scent laden with calories and waist widening molecules
now you wouldn't do that to us
would you?

:D--You're both wrong, it is fresh cut alfalfa hay. And somebody else has to harvest it.

Mine smelt like my children, and as you know nothing smells nicer than ones own children - I think the aroma is called 'dimply love' or maybe it's called 'extremely biased' !!!!

Very clever though. I always enjoy your blog, your writings often inspire, and sometimes sooth. Always antisipated.

were scratch & sniff stickers all the rage in the 80s where you live, like they were here in the states? we used to have entire sections of stores devoted to rolls of stickers on that waxy paper... and like your fig. 13 here, you never knew WHAT you were going to get in terms of aroma once you scratched it. the non-sweet scents they never seemed to get quite right. popcorn in particular was just a horrendous odor.

and thanks to you now we all have holes in our computer screens...

Have loved catching up on your week... those dish warmer thingies are fabulous. So cute and useful! And your post on home made me sad. How dare anyone tell us where we do or do not belong? Apparently, I don't have a home. Neither Africa or Europe wants me. My heart doesn't understand this and it hurts. When I scratched and sniffed I smelt Sally Williams cashew nougat - yummy!

oh. I had that kind of books when I was a child- scratch and sniff. I loved that - even though everything more or less smelled the same! (chocolate cake, pink roses, an apple...)
