Kamers Vol Geskenke

We visited KVG today (literal translation is Rooms Full of Gifts). I've never been before, so it was quite a treat. Lots and lots of gifts - I managed to pick up a lovely tea towel and pencil case by Heather Moore of skinnylaminx for a friend, plus one of her transfers that I want to put on a sliding glass door we have, a sweet little notebook and badge by Jesse of jezze, and quite a few other little bits and pieces. Le'Usband took one look at all the buzzing females inside, muttered " ...stuff..." and parked himself under a tree with his book. I simply couldn't take pictures inside the main venue, there was not room to turn, but I took a few shots of the vintage and gardening stalls outside ...

On the way back we stopped at Pniel to buy some of these ...
had lunch at Boschendal ...

and saw this ...
All in all a great way to to end the week and start the weekend ... Happy weekend, dears!

KVG sounds like a treasure trove! Beautiful pictures - I love the Proteas! Did you know that I lived at Boschendal briefly in my youth? My mother ran the restaurant/picnic/shop complex there and I worked in as a guide in the manor house during my varsity holidays. Beautiful place!! Do they still do THE best malva pudding?

kendalee - Oh it was a treasure trove indeed! I could have spent buckets of money! It must have been lovely living at Boschendal? The grounds are so beautiful, and I love the herb garden. Nooooooo, we didn't have the malva pud, unfortunately! (But we had a whole box full of strawberries from Simondium, and they were delish!)

freshly found - I think it is worth it, especially if it is a beautiful day and you can make a whole event out of it!

Rooms Full of Stuff! What bliss! People don't realise the incredible importance of Stuff. It lightens the spirit. And the purse, alas

his motor car's poor little boot
strained mightily under that loot
    but with luncheon so fine
    and a very good wine
le 'usband could not care a hoot!

Beautiful photo of Boschendal... I'm so pleased you found some of my stuff; I'm always happy when I know where the things I've made end up :)
