Bear Boy.

First 18 chapters finished! The publisher should deliver the last 12 chapters on Monday, but for the moment, I am free! Free! FREE! as a bird!! Or as a Bare Bear Boy, for that matter. Which is what I made last night.
It is a project from the online craft course I am doing - I am giving it to my niece - who will be returning from Scotland soon - as a Welcome Home prezzie. She is about 22 years too old for it, but hey, it is the thought that counts!

He looks to me like a bear for any age! Glad to see you! I thought the words had chewed you up, spit you out, and there you lay, all mooshed.
Your bear is sweet and very festive.Online craftiness- what a good idea! Enjoy your freedom! I'm sure you will have no problem with that!
cheers!

linda sue - I must say that I'm very pleased with my bear - it is the first such thing that I've made! Oh, the words, the words! They are coming at me again next week - I am having nightmares of a huge tsunami of words rushing up to me, engulfing me, eeeeek!

You crafty old thing. I have just had a brilliant idea for a soft toy thingie and will send a pic when I've completed the project. Probably just before xmas. In the meantime, inspired by you, I'm going on an arts course!

And yes, as Linda Sue suggests, there might well be coffee involved... :o)

iheartfashion - Thanks for visiting! I post lots of my own weird-looking creations, but unfortunately not much fashion, unless you count in the designs I made for Mirabelle (my paper doll). Mmmm, I think it is time for a fashion post again ...!

anonymous - Can't wait to see your soft toy project! A pookle, by any chance? (I have made two other dolls as well - must still put in the stuffing. They have arms, but sadly, no legs. I might put them in a post. No, not THE post, dear, so you can come out of hiding))

we are never too old for a cutie ;)

THanks for your sweet birds; my christmas tree will be prettier this year (the girls decided to include them as the main stars)
Thanks!!
:)

(By the way, the bird tail wasn't missing; it was hidden inside the paper... so the 3 birds made it fine to rainy Bilbao!)

lenorenevermore - Oh, it has a squeezability factor of about 9.8! Thanks for the good wishes - today was indeed a beautiful summers day - a good portent for the week to come!

esti - That is exactly what I think! in fact I have a collection of soft toys, some of them given to me by my kids, and although they live in a cupboard (the toys, not my kids, haha!), I do take them out every now and then for a quick squeeze & hug - one is never too old to do that! PS I am very glad the birds arrived undamaged!

Lucky niece! I gave an older friend of mine a teddy bear a while ago. I just felt she needed it. Unfortunately it was not one I had made myself, which would have been much better!

He's so cute! I don't think anyone would be too old for this.

freshly found - I think it is lovely that you gave your friend a bear - there are times when we need that! When I first moved to Cape Town many years ago, I was on my own - my family were all living in Pretoria. I was in my early twenties and feeling very much alone, so I went to Garlicks (which still existed in those days) one day, and bought myself a bear. It made me feel so much better! (I gave it away last year
to someone I felt needed it more.)

Jesse - I think so too! Mister Cute!
