Who would have thought that something that looks so simple could be so darn difficult?
A recycled project: made from leftover bits of wire and the discarded chicken wire from here. Also old bits of pink and red raffia. (Note: plaster is not recycled).

Very nice. Wire can be a bit testy. Be careful ;)
Your heart is lovely, but your finger boo-boo cracked me up. Great sense of humour!
I like this heart of wire. I hope you don't get hurt anymore along this project... :)
OUCH! Sharpie things- ouch! Though the final piece is so worthy! Thanks for the link tip- you are a genius.
Sorry it hurt you! It's lovely!
You and that chicken wire are just not destined to be friends are you?! I love that you don't just toss it onto the naughty-chicken-wire-scrapheap though and have managed to make such a sweet-looking little heart out of it. A heart with a bit of a bite... Mmmm. A defensive heart?
no no no!! i'm so sorry!! you really suffered for love on this one. i hope your finger heals quickly - at least the heart turned out beautifully!
mim - Thanks for visiting! I couldn't leave a message at your blog but I liked your drawing! Selfportrait?
ana - I'm glad you like the heart. Your art is beautiful - I am impressed!
esti - Who knows? But I'm not doing anything that requires wire-cutters again ... BTW I am VERY excited - I ordered your book of drawings tonight - can't wait for it to arrive!
linda sue - I am glad you got the link email - does it work now? Re my finger - I gouged a hole in it with the damn ^*^&* wire cutters. It is SO sore tonight - throbbing - I'll have to put more Betadine on, I think!
freshly found - The idea was actually to make a BIG one for the 'patio' outside where I have all kinds of cast iron items against the wall. But now that my finger got hurt with the small heart, I'll have to wait a bit to finish the large one for outside.
kendalee - This time it wasn't the chicken wire but the wire cutters - I jabbed a hole in my thumb! And it is SORE! Me and wire work - not a good combination ...
aimee - Thank you! And don't we all suffer for love a little (and sometimes a lot)?
Hello. So with you on your comment on the Design Indaba website. What's with that? The tiny pictures, the blah blah text? Something about all theory and no practise comes to mind... :)
Your comments always appreciated - thanks.
oh ow. but so sweetly country/rustic.
heather moore - Well put! Maybe you can drop a word in someone's ear ...
editor - Yes, rustic is the word. I was actually planning to make a bigger one to put outside in a small patio we have, envisioning it against the wall with a vine or creeper twining prettily around it. I thought to practice on a smaller version first, and I think I have now decided against the bigger version. Anyway, I don't have a vine twining prettily up my wall.
