X is for Xmas (Part 2)

Remember my two spring wreaths from here? When they dried out, I kept them because I thought they would make nice bases for Xmas wreaths.

The lavender one I decorated with some delicate green glass balls and a string of silver bells I got at the carboot sale. I also added some purple raffia. Nearer to Christmas I'll add some fesh lavender sprigs

The rosemary one was wrapped with old silver tinsel (from the carboot sale), to which I added some silver bows and my red plastic robin from here.
I think I will add fresh rosemary on Christmas eve - the rosemary dries out very quickly.
Just to show that I have not completely stuck to my LIM white, silver and black colour scheme ...
I took out a few of my collection of vintage tins, and added a few snow globes ...

if you don't already do set or window design, please consider a new career! you already have all the props. your tables look better than most of the windows i passed today on madison avenue!

I hear you on the quantity, you can spread the chances of getting a good present! How clever!
:)

I love your staging, especially those lovely exquisite vintage tins!!

Those snow balls are hugely desirable. Can you only get them in Cape Town? It is very difficult for the rest of us poor mortals to keep up with your creative zing! My dry acacia branch is looking very forlorn.
PS: where is l'usband? We miss him.

editor - I've always thought window dressing to be quite a desirable career, something I would love to do! In SA there is very little creativity in window displays, alas, or maybe I just don't see enough shops.

munted kowhai - I'm glad you like my tins! I used to collect them years ago - and have quite a number of tins stored away. I've stopped buying now - no space! - but every now and then I am tempted ...

anonymous - I'm sure you can get them anywhere! I've had them for years and years. It is actually a little toy train with about 5 coaches - each being a snow globe - I've separated them. (I used to make my own snow globes - they are very easy to make! - although not as pretty as these, but with that particular homegrown 'flavour' that I like!) Le'Usband is still around, don't worry! I think he is getting a bit weary of all the creating on my blog!

How beautiful it all looks!!! I'm loving these glimpses into your Christmas preparations. I'm finally going to start mine in earnest this weekend. Better late... & all that! :o)

P.S. how do you make your own snowglobes? I'd love to try that! Maybe an online creative tutorial? Poor le'usband. Will that tip him over the edge?
