Inspiration

I have many, many books on art and design, but only one on fashion. It is a lovely book to turn to for inspiration, as it is more about the process than the end product. Christian Lacroix - The Diary of A Collection contains many of the designer's scrapbook pages, illustrating the process he followed when designing this particular collection.

Wow, these are gorgeous pages!! And what really strikes me is that they are not that different to something that we mere mortals might make... Inspiration indeed!

karina - Yes, aren't they beautiful? I love his designs in general - they are so wonderfully dramatic and theatrical!
kendalee - Oh, there are many more pages I could show! I wish they published a diary of each of his collections ...
bronwyn - That is exactly why I dug this book out! I sometimes feel like weeping when I look at my own journal pages, though!
editor - I love the handwriting too! It actually struck me when I looked at it again yesterday - how a beautiful handwriting can transform something! I was blessed with a particularly ugly scrawl. I blame it all on a Grade 5 teacher who said I had a very adult handwriting style, which I took as a compliment. So I never tried to write beautifully (or even just legibly). I wonder if I can change it at this late stage?
