Childhood

Oh my, these David Bromley wood cut-outs remind me of my childhood (& Enid Blyton stories!)

He also does embroideries (on hand-coloured canvas) ...

Very Enid Blyton! How lovely. One of my early favourites was The Magic Faraway Tree series... Still remember craving those pop biscuits that Silky the fairy made, which exploded in your mouth with honey... Yummy! Not much has changed. Still love magical foreign lands, biscuits and honey!

Which Enid Blyton's did you like?

kendalee - I read the Famous Five series, and the Secret Seven, until they were banned from our school libraries. Not sure whether that was a countrywide initiative or just the Transvaal Education department. If I remember correctly it had something to do with children becoming 'addicted' to them and not wanting to read anything else. Oh, dear. Anyway, I loved them, especially the picnics and food they were always consuming and that was described so well!
