I've also learnt on his flickr stream that the fan above is an uchiwa fan (whereas the folding type is called a sensu fan)

I'm having a Japanese week too! I came across an English website today that actually deals in affordable vintage or recycled kimono fabrics-{excitment!}. To celebrate I made homemade teriyaki chicken stir fry!
