The Unbearable Lateness of Being.

Today was a lovely sunny day. So I decided to go to Stellenbosch to photograph, specially for you, the wrapped oak trees of land artist Strijdom van der Merwe. Imagine, Dorp Street's oak trees all covered in red cotton! Here is the picture I took:
Oh yes, I forgot to add that you have to imagine the trunks wrapped in red cloth. Yep, I have missed yet another exhibition through my inability to write down the closing dates. I have been too late. Again. Oh dear - we will just have to make do with images of some of his other works.

(Photos above from Strijdom van der Merwe's web site.)

Oh no, how frustrating for you! Well, I have a good imagination and I can see those red-wrapped trees. Stunning! I love this sort of landscape art - beautiful images!

kendalee - I am crazy about landscape art too - especially Andy Goldsworthy. It makes me want to go out and stack stones in concentric circles or mow my lawn in some interesting geometric pattern...
tiny red - I am glad you like them, I only took the first one though! I think Strijdom takes his own pictures to record his work.
